Served in the army as an enlisted man for four years and did two tours of duty in the Republic of Vietnam (RVN). He was commissioned as an army infantry officer fifty-eight days after the United States ended its combat mission to the RVN. He branch transferred to Armor after five years of infantry. Other duties included service in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Kuwait during the Gulf War, Germany, Korea, and Bosnia. He worked as a contractor in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia and Afghanistan. Military education includes Combined Arms Services Staff School (CAS3) and the Command & General Staff School (C&GS). Civilian education includes Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from Purdue and Ball State Universities. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
